Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new.
There are a few events going on in SL at the moment (aren’t there always?) but this weekend, the fifth Fantasy Faire opens. Personally, I’ve never been but I hear it’s quite amazing, especially if you are into fantasy wear. Plus, it’s a Relay For Life event so it’s for a good cause too! Pin Me Down will be one of the vendors at the faire (sharing a stall with SAKIDE this year, so you can find them on the Lotus Valley Dream sim) with some exclusive makeups. The Warrior comes in a faded black, and faded white which is tintable you can make it any colour you want. Myst comes in six different layers so you wear it how you want. Because this is a RFL event, 100% of the purchase price will go to donations. Another Warrior makeup will be a hunt prize that goes on for the duration of the Faire.
Speaking of fairs, Kawaii Fair has already started and runs until the 26th (or 28th? Both dates are listed on the blog so I’m not sure). Kawaii is full of
nauseously adorably cute everything! Most of it isn’t my style but had to pick up this super cute Panda Tank Top from (R E D). It’s a panda! How can you not want it?!
Oh, one last thing, this week’s Red Solo Cup challenge is Austin Powers / 60’s British Invasion! I got inspired because someone on plurk mentioned that with LeLutka‘s Bouffant hair, I looked like a fembot from Austin Powers. So originally I wanted to take a picture with a bunch of girls, all with the same lingerie and hair but because of various issues, it ended up just being Aevalah and I. I think we would be some pretty damn hot fembots.
I can’t wait to see all your submissions in the Flickr group because I think this will be a real fun theme for everyone!!
Tee*fy released the super cute Skyla Ruffle Sleeve Tank which is perfect for the upcoming summer season! And it goes great with their Lovisa Ruffle Mini Skirt that is now available at Collabor88. Erratic also just released some great mesh owl bracelets. They come in 4 “metals” (gold, silver, bronze and pinkgold). Owls are so trendy right now so you know, go be trendy!
To be honest, I didn’t know Collabor88 had themes. But looking back at previous rounds, I guess that makes sense. This theme for this round is kitsch. You probably don’t know what that is. Most people don’t. Basically, it’s ugly knick-knacks that your gam-gam has around her house from the 50’s. I think anyway…. But back to C88, whether it’s kitsch or not, it’s kinda filled with floral prints and bright pastel colours. And awesomeness. Like EVERYTHING TEE*FY HAS OUT. The Chloe Slouchy Booties, Lovisa Ruffle Mini Skirt, and Rachel Ruffle Sweater come in a variety of colours and prints (aforementioned floral included). Maxi Gossamer is also getting in the kitsch mood with three new necklace sets, Juicy Lips rings, and bangles. I had to pick up the Robot Dream Ride set which includes a cute robot and a penny-farthing, both of which can be wore together or separate. Floorplan has some kitschy furniture out as well, including these Kitsch Wall Plates. I especially love the flamingo one and the DMX lyrics. So…kitschy.
Pose Fair is open! Ok, yeah it’s been open for a while but you know me…I don’t really blog poses. AND IT CLOSES TOMORROW! I’m really good right? lol. I didn’t pick up much except the Whimsy pose pack from aDORKable poses and this cuuuuuute Honeybuns couple pose from D. Luxx. So go now! NOW! Cause it’s closing tomorrow and if you miss it, you’ll have to wait until it’s the main store (probably).
I wanted to show you the Lua’s Cropped Shirt by The Secret Store available at April’s faMESHed. There are 9 designs, 4 color packs, and a demo available. I ask Lourdes Denimore (my female plurk crush) to pose with. I was floored when she actually said yes. Ok, I’m going to fangirl a little bit here but honestly, Lourdes is quite amazing. True, I don’t know her very well but she’s probably one of the most real people I’ve met on SL. Plus, she’s FAMOUS. *social climbs*
Oh, she’s also wearing Lua’s Cropped Shirt in a design I could never look that good in.
