Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new.
So for once I had set out this plan to “blog with the big girls/boys” concerning Skin Fair 2013 coverage. I had my favourite skins I wanted to show you…but then RL happened and SL was hating me hardcore for just being logged in. So, as you probably know Skin Fair 2013 is under way and let me tell you, it is really good this year! Not just the new skins but the sims themselves! I went today to grab Zara, the new Glam Affair skin for the event and there was NO lag. I was even on ULTRA (!!) graphics, tons of people there and zero lag. Congratulations to the organizers and builders who designed this (other event should take notice, just saying). Now on to the pretty pictures.
Let me start by saying how funny I think it is that when LOGO came out with their Hybrid Mesh Avatar, Chloe, almost everyone was up in arms about “losing their face” and their “originality”. Some people got over it eventually and embraced it. Now enter Snow Rabbit‘s Nea (which everyone loves, no talk about losing their face and whatnot). I was all for Chloe so naturally I
wanted needed Nea. Creator Shirousagi Noel was amazingly generous enough to send me a copy and I haven’t taken it off since getting it. You probably know by now how “great” I am about writing reviews so I’ll save you the pain. Like usual, Juicybomb has a detailed review, so does So Hawt SL. I’m sure there are bunch more great reviews out there, so have fun reading!
Nea is a younger face compared to LOGO‘s Chloe and Sadie, and much more lifelike. There’s only a few issues I have with Nea. For the life of me, I can’t figure out the eyes. Looking at everyone’s pictures and blog posts, I find I have crazy eyes (hence why the eyes are closed in both pictures). Besides that, the head itself is simply amazing.
I also kinda of went a little crazy and took about 40 pictures last night and figured I might as well show you the new Gos Lolita Espadrille. They are an update to mesh of the original but awesome-r and have the new Colour+ System. If I understand correctly, Colour+ means if you buy the same shoes in different colours, you won’t have to change the actual shoe to wear different colours. You’ll have the ability to mix and match. They are now available at The Boutique by TLC until April 10th, along with an exclusive Cherry Blossom style that I had to get because they are so pretty! FYI – These are only 495L, whether that will be the price in the mainstore after I’m not sure. So get them now while you can!
Hi darling dearest! It has been a while, hasn’t it? Lots of great things have happened while I wasn’t blogging and a bunch of exciting events are coming up. One thing that was released was the LOGO Infinity Chloe Hybrid Mesh Avatar. Or “that mesh head” as everyone calls it I honestly didn’t think that I would get it because of that same old story of “but I’ll lose my face! My originality! Blah blah.” That old chestnut. But I did end up getting it some time last week. And I freakin’ love it! I’m not going to write a long blurb about it because it has already been done by much better writers like Gogo @ Juicybomb.com and Iris Ophelia @ New World Notes.
One of my problems with having a mesh head though…it doesn’t always rez for people so I end up being a headless avatar with hair, eyes and teeth. Such a hot look, I know.
“…And It’s been a while since I can say that I wasn’t addicted
and it’s been a while since I can say I love myself as well…”
Last week Maitreya released two new mesh items (do I really need to say mesh anymore? Do stores still released system layer and prim items?). The Xarra belted tunic dress was one of the new releases and I’m sure you’ve seen it all over the blogs since then. And because the second item released was the Stagioni boots, I’m sure you’ve seen those in the same picture as the tunic (just like the release ad!). While I was kind of hoping the tunic might be like a mesh version Matireya’s Boyfriend shirt, it just didn’t have the same appeal. But those boots? Ohmygah. They are so amazing. The detail is great, they have the worn look to them, they come in standard sizes and 9 natural, muted colours to choose from. And that’s the hardest part, choosing a colour!
I saw this picture on flickr and instantly loved the shirt. Found out it was from a store called UnderDogs. I’ve never heard of this store before so I went to check out them. There aren’t tons and tons of items available but it’s all mesh, all standard sizing. No demos though. Which kinda of sucks. I contacted the owner about that and got great customer service. While everything is standard sizing, it is nice to have a demo still but if you’re the kind of person who will buy something without demo, I suggest you head over to UnderDogs and check out the selection.
Summer may be coming to an end and school starting back up for some of us, so that means we should take advantage of all the beach time we can get! Mister Klaber, who is always lurking at beaches to “bird watch” asked me to join him. Since he was appropriately dressed for the beach this time in these hot mesh boardshorts from The Mesh Shop (free non-demo pair on the MP), I decided to grace him with my presence. Of course, I had to buy a new bikini so I could keep up with him. Searching the MP high and low, I found JinXtimacy’s Mix&Match mesh bikinis. For 175L, you get THREE (Yes, 3) mesh bikinis to mix and match top and bottoms. What a great deal, right? There are a bunch of colour sets to choose from (I went with the Sailor set) but at such an inexpensive price, you could just buy them all!
*I noticed just now that my top isn’t rezzed completely. It’s actually supposed to be a cute anchor pattern. Just fyi.
